O2 sensor replacing???

Default O2 sensor replacing???

My bike (08 Softail Custom) has been running lean since I put on rush's with 2" baffles and the SE filter. I was running lean with the PCiii and adjusted the low end a little bit but could not seem to get it right. Put back on the stock filter and everything seemed to be running fine....until.....tried to crank it up and it almost sounded as if it were flooded. So I pulled off the PCiii and now it is running great. I have been told I should be good as long as I keep the stock air filter on. No problems running now during the last 100 highway miles. It used to die on me when I decelerated on an off ramp so I knew it was lean. The question is...should I worry about taking off the O2 sensor eliminators while I have the rush's and the stock filter on? There is no dyno shop in my area and I might just put the stock pipes back on until I can find one. Thanks for the help guys....

Until you can get the PCIII issue resolved, with the O2 eliminators, I beleive the only thing your missing out on is the ECM's abiltiy to adjust to changes riding conditions. (Different Octane gas ect..) I would loose the Elimiators and keep the mufflers with out the SE Filter until you can address the PCIII issue. Your ECM will adjust for the Mufflers alone better if it can get some information back from the sensors.

ditto on that. but why do you need a dyno? You should be able to get pretty damn close with the PCiii mapping. Must be a forum member that can get you close with a map with your configuration. I would post this thread here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/elect...-injection-55/.

if you pulled the PCIII and left the eliminators on you are running a rich open loop from the stock ecm. it will be running as if the bike never warmed up and on a new bike that is a good thing. I rand mine for about 6 months with 330 ohm resistors in place of the 02 sensors using high flow breather and rush slipons. that will work fine untill you get to a dyno tune and then reinstall the pciii or sell it and get a thundermax and dont worry about anything. my used thundermax cost me $450
