Question Deluxe Backrest!

Hey Guy's, my wife just purchased a 2009 Softail Deluxe. She loves the bike but really needs a riders backrest. Does anyone know of anything that will work. She doesn't want to take off the original seat and replace with a Corbin or Mustang, etc. Anyone have any suggestions???? Thanks,

Firehousecustoms or Kuryakyn (part #8987). Both make a standalone backrest for the Deluxe.

I tried the Firehousecustoms on the wife's Deluxe. She was looking for something that sat her up more straight. The "custom's" has a bit of spring to it and is not adjustable. I found that a piece of rubber between the backrest mounting plate and the seat rail took care of the movement of the backrest but she still wanted a more upright seating position. May be worth a try for you.

Since she likes to ride with her HD tourpak which I call her purse, we have it on a solo rack that I modified to allow more forward movement and it serves her perfect as a backrest.

She likes the stock seat too much to part with it.

You can also find the Springer double rail and low or hi backrest pads on ebay which look good but are getting harder to find and pricier.

The rails are still available thru Harley but, the low and high pads aren't.

Correct, but they too can be hard to come by.

As I recall Firehousecustoms will let you try the backrest out and return it if you're not happy with it. Don't recall the time factor. They are the least expensive option I know of. Followed by the Kuryakyn and then the Springer setup.
