Default Softail Deluxe driver backrest?

I am looking for a driver backrest for my 2014 Softail Deluxe. I don't want to change seats, just want to add a backrest for my stock seat. Does anybody have any experience with the following backrest?

I tried this same back rest & it pushed me too far forward. I've also tried a couple off ebay and found one that was flimsy (bracket gave too much), another one with a bad chrome job & another that again pushed me too far forward. To be completely honest, I never gave them much of a chance because they all looked horrible IMO when on the bike.
I eventually gave up on the backrest & had my seat redone with memory foam & that helped a lot.
If I had to absolutely have a backrest - & that day may soon come, I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet & get a Corbin or Mustang seat with the built in backrest. IMO the Deluxe is just too classy of a bike for cheap looking "add-on" backrest.

I don't have any knowledge of this backrest brand but checkout Firehouse Customs for a backrest.

I added one of their's to my Heritage and love it.

Schlacker,
I tend to agree with you about the classy look of the Deluxe and adding a cheap backrest, but my back says different on longer rides. I don't think I would have the same problem as you when you say the backrest pushed you too far forward. At least I'm hoping that is not an issue. I'm going to give the detachable backrest a try and see if it will work for me. It looks easy to install and take off.

I added a little tail bag that I think detracts from the looks of the bike, too, but needed a little extra storage sometimes. It's simple to strap on and off, so don't use it all the time.

Bad choice of words on my part! I shouldn't have said they were cheap looking. The ones I tried didn't seem to fit the Deluxe's stying, & appeared to me too much like "add-ons" - but it's only my opinion.
I see your point - in the end (pardon the pun) "comfort rules".
Good luck to you & please post your results!

Hey, schlacker, where did you get the pad on what looks like your springer seat rail? I have the springer rail and would like a pad like that.

I bought an OEM rail w/pad set 2-3 years ago off ebay. It was still wrapped in H-D packaging & I paid dearly for it, over $400 if I remember correctly.

Since you already have a rail I just checked ebay again & saw some knock off pads that don't look too bad!

Schlacker, u da man. That's exactly the backrest I have been looking for. I thought I checked fleebay pretty good, but I guess not. Does your backrest actually give you support or is it more for looks?
