My wife took her 09 Softail Deluxe into the dealer for the 1000 mile service a couple of months ago.
Ever since, it has been dripping oil from the triple tree.
Yes...........it drips on the fender and it drips on the garage floor. It is making a mess.
I have to get paper towels and wrap them around where the brake line bolts to bottom of the triple tree to keep it from making a mess.
I don't know why they would use something that does that.
Would they use that on their own bikes?
Now we have to take it back. I don't know if just pumping new grease it it will get all the bad grease out or if they will have to take it all apart.
its grease from where they serviced the neck bearings. mine dripped forever,I took qtips and cleaned the excess grease from the bottom of the neck. when it came time to grease them again i used royal purple syn. grease and it hasnt dripped since.
Like they said, it is just that they filled the neck bearings with too much grease and it oozes out. It will stop eventually and you should simply wipe off the oozings when washing the bike (before it drips off the neck).
