I am looking to see if anyone has put saddle bags and a detachable windshield on there XBs if they have how did it turn out and how did they like it. Also what products did you use. Thank you for your time.
i have both gathering dust in my garage.
the windsheild is useless the buffering above 60 is crazy feels like your in a washing machine bro.
the harley bags are cool but for the money i would buy a swingarm bag harley ones are way overpriced . i have both but prefer the swingarm im going to sell the harley bags bike looks cooler without them
I'm with cammy5477... The buffeting above 70 is unbearable, I find my windshield collecting more dust than bugs... I too have a swingarm bag and detachable saddlebags. All bags are from leatherworks. The detachables are great for overnighters or long weekends. However, the swingarm bag sees the most miles. It is handy, holds a sweatshirt and looks cool.....

I have installed both the windshield and bags, both Harley items. They work well. I don't experience wind buffeting, but this is surely dependent on the height of the windshield, as well as my height in the saddle. So YMMV as well. I have the larger of the two available windshields.
The bags are very useful, but small. They are not necessarily designed for long trips, but hold plenty for around town use. If I had any nits to pick it would be the size of the opening access. It's smaller that the width of the saddle bag.
I have the saddlebags and they're great, but small. I had the compact windshield and it sucked, at about 55-60 I was ready to break it in a hundred pieces. I definately wouldn't recommend the compact windshield.
I don't have a XB but do have a Springer Classic and as far as the windshield, I had a Harley shield and the buffeting drove me nuts. I put on a "Windvest" and problem solved. I only use it on longer rides but it works good.
I agree with the Harley bags being overpriced. I bought mine on Ebay for about half of retail which was still too much. Don't really care for them as they don't hold much. Looking for a good set of throw over's now.
