Default big radius 2-2

Just got back from thunder in the valley all weekend..
finally decided after seeing all the pipes i think i could ever see that i am going to go with the big radius 2-2 pipes on my 07 fuel injected deuce.
the big question now is, what else does everyone recommend i get with them cause i know i cant just bolt them on and go.
Also, are all the recommended things I get easy to install? I know bolting the pipes on is easy, but as far as the computer, are those things just plug in and go?
thanks for the input
Jon

Bolt on the pipes and go!

As long as you're keeping the stock air cleaner you can just run the pipes.

I installed my V&H Shortshots two weeks ago and the bike runs fine.

Once you decide to mess with the air intake then you'll have to figure out what you want to do with the computer. For that there are many options: V&H Fuelpak, Power Commander, SERT, Thundermax... the list is long and there are many opinions on all of them.

Check out the search function and you should be able to find out some good info.

This question is gonna leave you unsure what to do. Some people do just that "Bolt on and go" and it works for them, most will tell you to get the intake as well as a fuel management. Only you can figure out what the best approach will be, if after you "bolt on and go" you start getting a hotter engine, really sluggish performance, or excessive popping from the exhaust you may want to look into the intake and fuel management, and then the fun really starts with trying to find the right management system. Most of us have gone threw this. Good luck! and let us know what you came up with.

This.

I rode mine for the first 1000 miles with the BR bolted on with no other changes and it ran great.

ok thanks,
I just bought a set on ebay for 500 bucks to my door brand new. If anyone else has any pointers or input, that would be great.

So you guys who just bolted right on, did you have any overheating problems or anything like that?

I can't tell you for sure, as I don't have an oil temp gauge yet.

The bike runs well though. Some decel pop, that's about it.

If you're doing the install yourself, it's should be easy. Be sure to get new exhaust port gaskets. I used the smallest flat blade screw driver I had to work out the old ones.

ya i will install them myself.
I was wondering about the threads that seem a little rusty on my bike. are those studs replacable? or will i be screwed if the studs are too rusty to take the old pipes off?

I stuck with the baffles that came installed from V&H. They sound great to me. I don't think I would want them any louder. They offer a deep bubbly rumble at idle and scream when I get on the throttle.
