Got my new Custom Danny Gray seat for my Night Train with the 180 heartland kit on the back. I got leather and a Stingray insert and gel pad inside.
Night and day difference in how the ride is. Only been out for about 1/2 hour on it today and already I'm glad I blew the cash to get something that suit me. Big test this weekend. Should get a few hundred miles on it by Monday. Pics show before and after etc. The seat height feels about where it was pre-heartland kit. So far I feel much better in lower back and the way my feet sit in on the pegs. I couldn't ride more than an hour without getting tail bone ache etc on the original heartland seat.
Thanks Dustmaker, seat is looking and feeling real good so far. Going to get some mile on it this weekend.

I'm digging the new seat.
I gotta ask though....Whats the white almost Vaginal looking spot thing in the middle?
HA HA HA, Chaz that's the first I ever thought of the white spot like that. It's natural as far as I know to stingrays. A friend has a wallet made of stingray hide ( how I got the idea for that option) and has the same spot all tho much smaller on it. I posted close up of it so you can see what it really looks like. Much better in person LOL.
The heartland seat ( found out here on the forum) is actually made for them by Danny Gray which is the main reason I went to them to get a custom made that would fit my hearland kit. I bought the original used and saved about $150 that way.
The stock seat is leather but not all that as far as I'm concerned. Some riders have no problem and find them good but for me , it just sucked on any long day trip.
After I ordered the custom DG then sent me the seat after they carved out the new foam and added the gel but with out the cover so I could try it out and make any changes before they did the leather work. What I ended up with is a slightly wider version of what the stock seat is and had them take out some of the contour ( the bowl or 'V"area) where the seat sloped up the back fender.
Well did 200 miles on the bike today. Seat was the right choice. WAY better than the stock heartland, BUT not as comfy as the fat boy style seat I had for two up riding before doing the heartland kit. Overall I'm very happy and it's a bit if a trade off for the style of solo seat vs. long haul comfort. It's more a a width thing as I can see. Sat on a friends Fatboy today after about 2 hours riding and thats where I felt the difference in seats. I think if I found my self going on a real long range trip as opposed to the 200ish mile day trips I'd see about working something out by strapping on one of those foam butt pads I've seen others use.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm interested in your seat/heartland widetire kit....looks good, I like how it snugs up closer to the tank than the heartland seat does
