Default Which rear lowering bolts..???

There are so many out there. There are brands by Arlen Ness, Midwest, Biker's Choice, etc. Which are high quality? Stainless steel, etc...???

I also see that Progressive has some with bushings like the one's below. Are these any better b/c of the bushings? Help...

Thanks for feedback.

Oops...I see what the deal is. Those bushings will replace the stockers.

Get the progressives!! The stockers start to dry rot and those bushings essentially clamp to the sub frame under the bike...

You can install them yourself but you will need a press or have a way to compress the spring. Or you can remove the shocks and bring them to someone to change out the bolts. As far as comfort goes, depends on how much you lower it, you can also adj the spring preload to help the bottoming out if lowered 2" or more. There is a sweet spot and you have to try and you will find it.

Get the Progressive's, no pressing required.
Unless you have a press, you'll probably spend the difference in cost by having a shop press them for you.

Yes, you do need a press with the progressives. They look to be bolts that come with bushings.

Not counting the Progressives, is one brand better than another? Should I get chrome or stainless steel or does it really matter?

So lowering it an inch will yield better comfort that lowering it 2"? Also, does the bike look good just lowering the back and not the front or should I go ahead and lower the front as well?

I have the Ness bolts on mine. It's dropped about 1.5 inches in the rear and front (Progressive springs in front). It doesn't ride that bad as far as comfort is concerned with just me on it but if you're riding 2 up it will probably feel like sitting on a skateboard and riding it down a cobblestone street depending on how low you go. I'm slamming mine at 5k service and getting it as low as it will go though. Looks so much cooler that way.....
