I have seen that many of the parts from the Springer
fit the Deluxe. I happen to know that a Springer seat can fit on a Deluxe
because we tried one on when I was shopping.
Anyone have any ideas on which years would fit from the springer?
Not sure what year the one was I tried but I'll check with the dealer.
I've see a couple of cool seats but they are for older model years.
I *think* that the only ones that will interchange are from the Springer Classic (2005, 2006). The Heritage Springer is different, and a lot of parts won't interchange between the Heritage and the Classic.
Rose, I understand that the seat off of a Heritage Classic will fit on the Deluxe. I've actually seen
pictures of this setup. I gotta tell ya that seat should have been on it from the factory! Looks
good. And everyone say's that the Heritage seat is very comfortable.
I just got the seat rail off of a Springer. It's identical to the stock Deluxe, but has another rail on top of that, which allows you to attach a back rest. I sent my stock Deluxe seat off to Americana Seats in NJ to have them put in a gel pad, covered with memory foam. I then attached a tall backrest pad to the new Springer rail. Looks great, and is nice having the backrest. Only problem is they don't make the Springer rails anymore so you'll have to find one through other means - I got mine for $120 on eBay.
I have the rail on order...we'll see if it gets here... they said at least 2 weeks.
ordered it last week. The place I bought it from described it correctly.
Even after having my seat shaved I feel I might want a bit more cushion (have gel)
Bluerose, I installed the Heritage seat w/back rest HD p/n 51562- 00A on my 05 Deluxe without a problem. You will also need to order the bracket HD p/n 51799-06. You will need to remove the rack so the seat will fit. You can save $135.00 by ordering thru Zanotti.

Nice seat...how's it ride?
I'll have to get the other hardware for my tour pack too.
hehe...I figure when I'm done I'll have so many interchangeable parts I can have a new bike every day!
Bluerose,After a year of riding on the factory seat it was a little odd at first. You sit a little higher and closer than the factory seat. After adjusting the pegs its getting comfortable. The back rest is great. you can lean back, the support is good. The passenger seat is a comfortable size. I know you will like the change. It gives the bike a whole new look. I need to take a picture of the bike with the seat and post it
