Default V&R BR Baffles

Is there any harm running the baffles out of just one pipe? I removed the baffles out of the bottom pipe of my BR's and noticed that it seems to run smoother and of course a bit louder. I have a fuelpak (getting rid of it soon) and a V&H breather on it. Before I removed the one baffle, I was getting some backfiring on the de-acceleration but now....no backfiring! Any advice / tips?

Decel popping can be caused by too little or too much fuel that ignites in the pipe. The baffle may be letting enough air back in to light off the fuel, I would put the baffle back in and readjust the fuel mixture.most likely too lean. When you close the throttle unburnt fuel goes in the exaust and just a matter of getting it right so it won't light off. Hope this helps you

Thanks for the responses. I guess my initial thread was confusing. Without the lower baffle I do not backfire......with both of them in I do backfire. Just wondering if I am doing any damage to the scoot? Im going to keep it the way it is but not if I blow up the engine or something...

Oh yeah...part of the reason I initially left the one in (top baffle) is because after yanking on it for 2-3 hours I said screw it I will just leave it in. Any tips on removal of the top one? I rode it around heating it up but still no luck...

mine got stuck and tried vise grips but then put 2 nuts inside the pipe on the thread and used small box wrench to loosen it up after warming the engine
