Just patch it with a patch kit from the auto parts store. I ahve patched numerous tires and never ahd a problem. this is a point of contention with many people, but that is what I would do.

I am going to get an emergency patch kit for my bike, in case of flat on the hwy, I can still fix it and bring it home. I have talked to some tire shops, they said motorcycle tires are different, they require special plug and patch, I don't really know what to get.
I found this http://www.stopngo.com/ , you can use engine compression to inflate the tire, interesting stuff.

Cool! You are right, leaving the mess in the tire is still better than towing 100 miles, sometimes even more.

Personally, I don't care if it causes a mess inside the tire...it does the job. If I ever pick up a nail in a new tire again, I won't hesitate to use the stuff.

Motorcycle shops due to liability issues are required to patch tires from the inside. The emergency type of patch I use are the external type. You pull the nail, round out the hole, cut the piece of rubber sealant to size and put rubber glue or whatever it is called all over the tire and the piece to be inserted into the tire. Push the "plug" into the tire once covered with sealant and fill with air. As i have said before, this is a point of contention amongst many bikers, but I would never recommend something that had not worked for me. I have ridden thousands of miles on self plugged tires with no issues.

Just carry a few plugs and the push tool. Any auto parts store will have them. Yeah both car and cycle repair shops must use inner patch plugs by law or insurance I guess. I've been using push-in plugs for years on both bikes and cars and have also ridden thousands of miles on them. That is my final repair... I have never brought a tire in for repair after plugging it myself. A nasty slice would be the only reason I would use an inner patch plug. Definitely balance issues with that slime crap and every tire guy I have come across at work detest the crap. Even heard one tell a customer that he's really required to junk a tire that has slime in it. Don't know if he was scamming them or just pissed off.

Try to clean off that slime crap from the wheel, it s**ks. Think about your $1200 wheel all crapped up. I would never use the stuff, well maybe but the last resort.
