I have been tossing around the idead of straight slamming my front end. I have a progressive kit and used the 2: chit. Not much slammage to be had there. Handles great and looks better than the "Praying Mantis" stocker but I'm in need of the full meal deal...
Heres my question. Who here has ran a set of -2 under forks tubes in concert with the progressive kit?
I'm just lazy and once I put it all together I dont wanna hafta pull it back apart and change the 2" progressive to the 1". I actually want the full meal deal slamma jamma at 4" under. I'm then gonna finish off the *** end by bringing it all the way down with my adjusters.
I think that dude with the Day train maybe had the 2 under tubes on that bike?
I dunno....Anyone who has tried and succesfully gone way low via suspension kit and short tubes lemme know.
For those of you that are interested?
Gimma about a week or two and mine will be in thy weeds with a nice write up on how it all panned out!
Doing mine right know Chaz.Just cut 2" more off the spacer and put it together.Hope that pipe is up high enough. They look good scraped up too.G.
You think the full meal deal can be found via dicking with that section of PVC pipe?
I put mine in and didnt even cut it at all.
My Rinehart is an off-road ready unit. That fvcker sits high enough to put on an old school scrambler and get dirty.
So just to clarify your plan...You did the 3 spring deal and now you are gonna cut the spacer essentially in half?
I really dig the look of the short fork tubes though.
Here Gordon...I think this dude has the short tubes. Plus he must have some type of lowering kit as well. His front is mighty low. Lower than 2" worth of slam fo' sho'.
yea chaz cut the pvc........i didnt at first but then i did to soften it up a bit........its your dampning..........cut er in half and should drop some with the weight

It still wont have the short fork tube look i'm after. See that black bike? Those aint the stock tubes. That short tubed look is what I want. If my tubes went that deep into the sliders they will hammer and bottom out on every bump.
I'm doing shorty tubes. 2 unders. Then I may swap my 2" progressive over to the 1" mode...Or maybe not!!
What I was saying Chaz is after you do the -2" tubes you have to cut the lowering kit spacer 2" more than you had in there with just the kit to get the same spring rate as just the kit.I'm doing the tubes also.I don't know that this applies to the new progressive drop in kit.I would think not due to the shorter higher spring rate springs.I'm using Performance Suspention springs and going by what they told me to do with their springs.Cutting just the spacer on stock tubes only softens the spring rate.
I'm only going down 3" total to level the bike with the air slammed.4" is a little to low for me and would have a nose down attitude at ride height.G.
2DAKERB did this mod to his bike and posted the link to the place, I think in the night train picture thread. If memory serves me, he bought 2" shorter fork tubes (that's what you want, right?) and threw them in. I'll be doing the same thing when time permits. I'll look for that link for you.

I concur. I think I'm just gonna pull the third topout as well making mine a 3" drop to.
Where did ya' git your tubes Gordon?
Best price I have found on a set of nice new chrome ones was $145.00
Freefall I didnt notice how chopperesque the fork is on your bike.....The hot looking gal (Your wife?) always commanded me away from the photo of your bike!!
