might have just been loaded up.

What the hell is that?

Do you have a manual reserve petcock on the bottom of the fuel tank that you turn on for reserve fuel?

I use the Stock Plugs.... 6R12
They Run Cooler
I've tried all the other 1's . and . the Stock 1's Work Best Fur me...

Mine does the same every now and then. I would just try a new set of plugs, but could also be a vaporlock type of problem. My friends does it too and his is all stock.

Other things that could cause this-

Bad gas - low octane?
Marginal battery or starter. Week ground or battery connections
Lifters bleeding down. Some people add travel limiters, usually cammed bikes though.

If I start mine in 1st with clutch pulled in, it does it from time to time. I make it a point to start in neutral and it does not happen. Makes it a little easier on starter and battery to kick motor over...

Mine does the hard start too. It's also carbed. I don't know what does it but it's aggrevating. After you have it hot and it starts doing it, I have found out to just give it just a little throttle and it will fire up everytime and not burp and fart like you are talking about. I guess that's what you get when you mess w/ factory settings.
