Thinking of adding Stage I and P.C to my Softail Custom (2009) Does this really help in the low to midrange power. Which type of P.
C. would anyone sugest. And dees this help mileage, I know it will help the bike to run cooler.
I have PCV on both my 2009's, it didnt look to change mileage that much on my ultra but my Rocker looks to have lost a few miles per gal. But the Performance has sure increased on both so I would recommend it for the cost of only a few mpg.
I installed stage 1 and I heard a PC would really help make my bike run cooler with more power as well....true? If so how much would somehting like this cost and what PC did anyone use?
I recently bought a slightly used 2007 Night Train. It was completely stock when I bought it and was that way for about a week.
I installed V&H big radius pipes, SE air cleaner intake, and also a PCIII. The PCIII I got from fuelmotousa.com, and when you call them you can tell them exactly what pipes and intake you have and they'll tune it to that exact setup. I believe the PCIII was $279 plus shipping. Another great thing about buying from them is if you have any questions with the install or anything else, you can always call them and they are very helpful in answering your questions.
The difference in sound is AMAZING, finally sounds like it should. Difference in power especially in 3rd, 4th, and so on is also very dramatic. Pulls like a freight train now, and waaaay more fun to ride.
I'm not sure about losing/gaining mileage. I would assume you will lose some since the bike is taking in more air. BUT you will definately lose some because of your right hand. I've gotten pretty bad mileage the past week or so, pretty hard riding. About 97 miles out of 3/4 a tank.
