I had my bike 6 months and one of the driving lights popped a bulb. So I go to O'Riellys and get a bulb. Later in passing I mention it to the SM at the dealership. He's says that it will probably go out again because HD uses a vibration resistant bulb.
'Whats the differance?' say's I. He says that when you look at the filament posts, there are 3 in the HD bulb and only 2 in the O'Rielly bulb.
Well wipe the dirt off my back 'cause I must of just fallen off the Turnip truck since it's been 18 months since I changed it and it's lasted 3 time as long as the HD one it replaced.

He is full of ****. I had one of mine pop twice and mine told me that he didn't know and blamed a bad lot of bulbs.

Has nothing to do with vibration but rather when you run out of turn signal fluid. The fluid protects the filament. For $20 I will send you an HD "best kept secret" service manual....secrets such as checking for soft spots! Get a hammer and gently tap the hammer against all of the tins, you will notice an audible thud when you hit one. These soft spots are caused by vibration which can be fixed by purchasing bearing grease for your mufflers (yup thats right)
