My buddy took his new heritage (less than 100 miles) to the dealer for a passing light not working. Dealer put a new bulb in it and said it is probably caused by "harmonics" from the vance and hines longshots we installed.
Anyone ever heard of anything like that?
Sounds like that guy at the dealer is or was an electrician. I think he is over thinking it. My bike/bikes play all kinds of tunes and all the bulbs work fine for years. If there is a reoccurring problem, then it needs to be found. Maybe vibration destroyed defective filament in a bulb. So be it... If it works fine now it was a bad bulb. Maybe he wanted to use a fancy word for vibration...
Hey tell your Buddy to ask the dealer what key the Vance might have played that would cause the bulb to go.
Gotta love the Stealer. There must be a handbook that HD issues all THE Stealerships and in it, on the first page in big black bold letters, it says, "BLAME THE CUSTOMER FOR EVERYTHING"

Nope, dealer did not install the pipes. The only time they touch our bikes is for warranty work. On a upside, the dealer said he would keep replacing them for the extent of the 2 year warranty.

Then it was surely harmonics that caused the bulb to go bad!
