Been reading and lookin on here and have see the phrase "No replacement for Displacement"
But if some one is lookin to add throttle response, and really just wanna give the bike some pep. Not lookin to have biggest numbers, would a PCv, thundermax,..ect be good or do they need the 103",110" stage 2 kits?
I just added air cleaner, pipes and PCIII with downloaded map (they didn't have pcV 5 years ago) to mine. It gave it some extra pep. Not nearly as much as I would have seen from larger displacement and proper tuning. By the way, you might look around if you're thinking about increasing displacement. There are quite a few aftermarket paths to more displacement that will equal or exceed HD's. I would do it myself, but displacement increases are pricey (for me).
Zippers has a "sleeper" kit that is 103" cylinder/pistons, pushrods, cams(575 or 577).
07 FLHT with kit and exhaust Dyno results were: 90-95HP 103-108TQ (depending on cam)
Is that really possible with just that kit? If i were to add the TMax auto tune... seems i would be sittin close to 100hp 115TQ... i dont know anything bout HD performance but i know addin 50%+ Hp cant be that easy???
Stock 96" is what..65-70hp?? So im guessin 90-100Hp is gonna be a big difference!!
Im not trying to build a drag bike or anything, but i dont wanna waste $400-$600 to gain 5hp..u know?
Think the 103" stage II kit (want the cams dont care bought the slip-ons) and a tuner will do the Job!!
