Default Progressive 422's on a Heritage

For those that are running them, are they really worth the 400 bucks? If I didn't have a bad back, I think the stock shocks would be fine for me, but was hoping to get a little softer ride without bottoming out and getting the dreaded spine shock..
For what it's worth, I run about 255.

All I can say is for me they were worth it. They ride great and better than stock shocks. I run 185,

Guess I'm not sure about the fuss. 2007 Heritage Softail, 19,000 miles. I'm an easy 232 and the misses 140, we ride 2 up alot and don't seem to have a problem. Did HD change something between 2007 & 2008?

Get a spanner wrench and tighten up your stockers. From factory i believe they are set for a person at 175lbs. Im 225lbs and used to bottom out all the time(all of about a month before i lowered it) with my stock set-up. Tighten them up all the way and you will be just fine. As for Progressive 422's....Hell NO! A few more hundred more and you got yourself a air-ride. HI/LOW last christmas were selling for $700.00. And other brands on e-bay are goen for $500.00

I ran em (422's) . . . For one month. One long ride. It rode like a mack truck, and I had em on the easiest setting. I'm a buck 80 (aprox)

I have the stock shocks back on it now. Rides perfect. I feel the 422's are a waste of money. I bought mine right, so I sold em on ebay and it was a wash.

No I wont be just fine. I know how to adjust them and have many times. I know I can adjust them up so I won't bottom out, but then they are to stiff (bad back) a ride hence my question to begin with.

I didn't think much of my Progressives (on my Sportster) until I took them off before I sold the bike. Rode the bike for about a week with the stock shocks back on - that's when I really noticed how much more plush the ride was when I had the Progressives on. I'm going to put the 422's on my Deluxe as soon as I can find a used pair in the $200-$250 range.

LOL... and you think that 422's will solve your problems? I hear they ride like stock shocks tightened up with lowering bolts in them. Maybe your only option is a air-ride of some kind. Or maybe a big seat dbl stuffed with feathers and your pillow under your a$$. Or how about a touring bike?

New when riding 2up they bottomed out bunch of times, at the 1k had dealer set for 250. for the last 23k maybe bottomed couple times... just a little firm solo.
I shattered L3 yrs ago, that healed. so my back is not very good but don't have any issue's with the ride since..
I have learned the roads and travel the better ones and stay off the washboards...

I never said they would. I have heard a lot of positive feedback and wanted to hear opinions good or bad from dudes that have tried them.
