The military makes me wear a gay orange vest.
Other than that, i swapped the rear brake bulb with a kissan unit that flashes when I put the brake on. If you have ever ridden or driven behind someone with a kissan, you can see how effective they are. You would have to be passed out drunk not to notice my brake light.
Sucks about the vest, we (USMC) fought hard for about 2 years and they finally did away with the vest.
I think you will be fine. They are more worried about your pipes, signals, light and horn. I went through JCI several times and several of my buddies had apes. I had to stuff my pipes full of steel wool just to pass though.
Good luck!
Yeah, stock quiet pipes are a must.
I'm pretty sure you can have the title changed to match aftermarket handlebars. Lights are another biggy. LEDs for example, would never pass.
MotoLights https://www.motolight.com/ A friend was riding w/ me the other night and said I look like a freight train. Haven't been "flashed" yet by oncoming cars, so I assume they're not bothering cagers.
I finally got around to getting the comagination modulator and it won't fit inside the crossbones headlamp housing. There is ZERO room in that housing for anything extra.
The only other way to add this thing would be to hardwire it somewhere along the wiring path before the headlight (hidden of course). I guess I'm sending it back because I don't like the idea of being able to quickly remove the modulator.
