Has anyone dropped the front fender on their Deluxe or Heritage. I have enclosed a couple of thumbnails as an example.
I know some put in a 21" wheel to fill the fender but how many have done this?
What is your thoughts on how it looks. I like it but its hard not to look at that huge *** headlight!!! Once I look past that I like the fender being lower and wonder what it would look like with a lowered fork as well.
looks like all they did was cut of the two tabs and remounted the fender by drilling new holes.
UMMM NO....Looks out of place also gives the front end that raked look. NO TY... Why not just lower it and do it right. Look at the huge gap between the fender and lighting. Definatley wrong on that bike

See that is what I am saying. Lower the bike as well. Just lowering the fork does not drop the fender on the wheel does it?
I know it does for the back but I do not see how it can for the front unless you were to do this mod as well or am I missing something??
lowered fenders look bad ***. Only reason i didnt do it is because I like running the chrome rails. heres a thread that has a few FL softails with lowered fenders: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...nt-fender.html
You are correct, cut off the tabs and redrill the holes.
TRat has lowered the fender on his Deluxe and it looks badass. I may eventually do it on my bike also, to get the 21" even closer.
I tried looking up TRat and I could not find this member. I was hoping that he had pictures of his bike.
Yep I think when I have the fender and forks off putting on the chrome front end I will need to drop in the lowering springs and and chop the taps off the fender.
I lowered the fender on my heritage like the pics your posted. I cut off the brackets, wrapped a 3/4 hose around the tire to keep a good clearance and re-drilled new holes. I think it looks great. The only problem is, now I really want a 21" front wheel, but to do that I will have to either get a new fender and re-paint or re-weld new brackets and have to re-paint. Either way, it wont be cheap.

looks great. Can you walk me through your steps on how you cut of the taps and drilled. did you put tape over the spot you drilled to ensure the whole was clean and the paint did not chip around it?
Try native customs i lowered the front fender on my road king classic and my 06 street glide and i sent the fender to native customs and they lowered them and all i had to do was take it to the painter and he smoothed every thing out so you have no rivets showing or you can buy the brackets from them and do it yourself.you'll be happy
