I ordered a complete set of 16" apes and chrome controls from them. Overall I was pretty satisfied with the company and there service. One problem I encountered was the brake light switch would not touch the brake lever when the brake was applied. I had to put a screw in the lever to make it work. I know of at least three other people who had the same problem. Also if you get the entire kit, be sure to get black switches on your controls, I ordered the chrome switches and the lettering on the switches is wearing off. I have only had the bars on for a couple thousand miles. Overall Good Deal Though
Pretty much the exact same experience I had when I bought the 16" kit for my FXD. Same deal with the front brake switch. No problem with the lettering yet, but the horn button sticks every once in a while. Overall I'm pretty happy considering how much cheaper they were than comparable set-ups.
just seen your other post too so give me a call i will fill ya in on all the details of what you asked..............if ya didnt figure it out yet.....
ah, thanks bro, I still havent really got a good grasp on it. Ive got finals today and tomorrow. THEN I can breath. Ill probably try to get in the garage this weekend. Ill hit ya up. As soon as these classes are off my back I can get back to the machining too. Thanks mang
Turns out my bars were delivered yesterday. I was out of town and didn't realize this. I didn't receive any shipping notice I don't really have any complaints overall. They say it could take up 7-10 days and that's what it took. I will have to see how everything looks when I get a chance and start installation in the coming weeks.
My suggestion get the bars, cables and wiring for $489, Use your stock controls. That saves you from having to screw with the wiring the bars which can be a real pain in the ***. The Harley controls are much better quality wise compared to the aftermarket ones HCC has. Get black switches. And Oh yea get 16's!! YOU ALWAYS WISH YOU WENT BIGGER! I wish I had got that 18's hahaha
I recently purchased their 14" apes off of ebay, and was disappointed in them as they are not really apes but more of a buckhorn style handlebar. This was their generic HCC bars for $50.
Anyways, the sent me shipping confirmation the next day, but didn't actually ship out the bars until a week later. During this time, I placed an order over the phone with them for a new brake line and banjo bolts. They charged my credit card for the full amount on 11/19 and despite my calls and emails, I have not received my order as of yet or even received any information on when or if my order has shipped (it has not).
Finally got a hold of Rob there yesterday...found out that, yes, they had charged my order, but it was never fulfilled or shipped out. I asked that they refund my card and he said he would do that.
I don't mind if you're gonna charge my card and ship out within 24 hours..but I'm pretty sure it's standard to NOT charge someone until the item is shipping. Now I just want my money back and be done with it.
Yes Dr.Rude it does. It included the bars, internally wired, with switches controls, throttle cable, idle cable, front brake cable, and clutch cable. The pin connectors have to be crimped onto the wires in order to assemble them in the detush connecters. For that you much purchase a special crimp tool that I purchased at Napa Auto Parts. I had a hell of a time finding it. Good Luck!
Got my HCC 16" bars put on. Ordered them with the pre-wiring and all the cables. Packaging was very very good, among the best of any ebay order I have purchased.
The wiring is good, it all fit, but it is a pain to put it in to the housings. For $50 more I could have got it all wired into new housings and probably should have, but it's done now.
The deutsche plugs were not difficult with the right crimper! Very good plugs.
Figuring out the 'loop' for the wiring harness was a breakthrough in my Harley life. Works very cool, push-pull thing.
The bars are gorgeous to me, and I agree...GO 16" I had 12s. GO at least 16"
That's all for now. Stupid cold outside weather.....
