Yeah, there is just this void and i think it kinda throws the look off a bit. I was thinking of giving the scissor pins a shot also.

I think once i get some clear coat on them they'll be fine. The wood is only a thin sheet good glued to the frame of the shaker board so if need be i would be a piece of cake to replace.

Thanx, i thought the floor boards stained right would be just enough to carry the brown through the bike.

I thought the same thing about the gap between the seat and the fender when you move to a STF fender. Here is what I did, and I love the way it turned out. It is low and it filled in the gap nicely. I have been riding it with no fender while I am still working to clean it up for paint, and I sit so close to the tire that I can feel it grab my shirt tale.
Here are a couple of pics, I have since gone to the 3" hairpin springs instead of coils.

You removed the pins? What is holding the springs in place?

I drilled 2 holes in the flat part of the frame and ran a bolt up thru the bottom

Gotcha. my only worry is that with the back end of the seat that low am i gonna slide off the back, cause that would suck
