Today Christmas came early with an V&H set up. The pipes and air filter are good to go but the fuelpak would not work past half throttle. The motor would die pasted that, all settings are correct. Changed back to the stock brain all systems good. Will the stock brain run too hot? don't want to ruin anyting. I am thinking of not rideing till I get this right.
Dynojet power commander V might be the next brain too run the show
2010 fatboy big radius 2 in 2 vo2 air... and a sorry fuelpak
any thoughts.
If your not sure what your doing, I suggest you have someone who does install it. I dont think that going to a pcV is going to solve your problem. The fuelpak is one of the more user friendly fuel tuners on the market. Its defitnetly more user friendly than a PCV. Both are good ssytems but your problem sounds to me like you either did something wrong, Have the wrong map. or have a defective unit. Also dont forget to disconnect your battery when doing anything electrical.
As for the ecu running "hot". Theres no such thing, I think the term your looking for is will the bike run lean/rich which are terms used to detrmine your air/fuel ratio. Could you ride the bike. Yes. Should you, No.
Its ok to ride the bike on short easy rides to be able to hear your new pipes or whatever, but you should defitnetly add te fuel tuner to make it right.
I had the same problem on my Sporty with the Fuel pac...
wouldn't run right when decelerating but performance gain was awesome.
I never got it figured out, I deployed too soon.
call costumer service, V&H has great costumer support.

When you set the system up did you go into the diagnostic mode and verify that the TPS was calibrated correctly? ("0" at closed throttle, "50" at half and "100" at full throttle) I have a FuelPak on my 07 Fatboy and it runs great! Really pulls better in 6th.
+1 Tracker......I would double check the Map code you selected and re-calibrate the Throttle Position Sensor, forget what slot thats in but I do know it has to be a slow consistent twist...if you do it to fast it may screw up the setting. If that doesnt resolve it, I would definitely contact V&H for a replacement.
You've got V&H pipes and the Fuel Pak is V&H; not sure what your Air Cleaner is but V&H makes the settings on the Fuel Pak work with the most common components out there. For something that's not standard, you can give them a call or send an email and they will provide you with the correct settings. If none of the settings work, you may have a defective Fuel Pak, which I am sure could be exchanged. You should dig a little deeper into the problem before spending more money on another product...Good luck!
