glad this has been mentioned as my solo bag is going to arrive tomorrow, might buy some black hose or something and wrap it around the swing arm first, or as previously mentioned just use electrical tape.

I just installed the Dead Creek Cycles bag mount. Tastes good, works great.
Except their measurements were a bit off for my bike. The Deuce swingarm is probably different from the other swingarms of that time frame.
Didn't you think, for second, when you were putting it on, hey this this is going to rub the paint(powdercoat) off? What did you think was going to happen, you could pull it off and the swingarm would look new, after having something rub on it for how ever long?
You really have to use a little critical thinking before you hang a bag off the side of your swingarm.
Sorry about being rude, but you made a post saying, DUH my paint rubbed off.
Anyway, I think it is powdercoated, for it to look right, you are going repowdercoated the complete swingarm. It sounds like a good time to buy a chrome swingarm, if you like chrome.
Hey TLB, you need your own sign saying you're kind of a jerk.
The Harley Davison one comes with the clear protective stick on, same thing that bug shields and the fender protector under your seat are made out of. Go to a dealership (car) that installs them, pay them ten bucks for a sheet and not worries. Had mine on for years with ZERO problems.

I still need to get something for the inside to help keep its shape. I tried soaking it with something in it and letting it dry as someone recommended but that didn't help.
Someone recommened ABS plastic, which is what I'll probably do.
I have a good friend that does HVAC work including designing and building the duct for his company. He wants to build a metal inset to put in it. I think this would be the most rigid, I just hate to think of all the added weight I'm putting on there. So far the Shotgun and the bag brackets have all been pretty heavy compared to the stock solution.
The other thing is that I had to mount it towards the rear of the bag because my vertical plate holder that's on the rear axle wouldn't let me center it. I'm going to attempt to take some good photos of my bike this weekend. I'll post something up when I get the chance.
