I agree with the guys who say don't put any thing on that moves I had a windshield bag on my deluxe it was resting on my nacelle it put rub marks on it that could not be repaired I had to replace it. Douc bags, Have you ever seen a barber sharpen a straight razor with a leather belt? leather sharpens solid steel, it will dam sure take paint off.
Think you may be a little misinformed.
A barber doesn't sharpen a razor with leather.
They use a leather side of the 'strop' to knock off the wire feather that forms on the edge during the real sharpening process.
On a bike leather will not in and of itself wear off the powdercoat or paint.
It will do it because the leather traps and holds grit and road dirt.
Its that grit and dirt its holding on to along with a little water for lubrication that that does all the damage, not the leather.
