Default Installing upgrades on my 07 Fatboy

Ok. Instead of allways asking you guys what to do, or what to buy... Now its I've bought, and when it arrives can I install these items? I bought the following from fuel moto and want to do what you guys think?

1 Vance n Hines BSS
2. Fuel Moto SE Stage 1 air cleaner
3. PC III

Do you think I would be ok installing these items by myself. I'm avarage with tools, have plenty tools too. have changed oil on my vehicles, just haven't got my hands dirty with my Fatboy.

it's hard to say you can do it.... don't know you or your mechanical abilities. however, most on here will say to tackle it.

me? I'm too old and lazy to crawl around on the floor, busting knuckles. my independent mechanic did all the labor for $75.00.

Given what info you shared, I say pay someone. If for some reason you scratch your pipes or bike or have problems with the PC, it will not be worth a couple hundred dollars in labor.

If you had said you change brakes, or clutches, or worked on carbs or something more than oil changes, I wouldhave said go for it.

Do you have a friend that is a little more mechanical that can help?

I would look through the installation directions and look the bike over for what you have to do and if you feel confident give it a shot. It really isn't too difficult. If you would feel more comfortable having someone else do it don't hesitate to take it to somebody.

go for it.

the PCIII is plug and play.

the pipes are straight forward, just take precautions not to scratch the heat shields.

pclll was the hardest part to install. i threw away the instructions and put it in front of the mud flap where the alarm would have gone. i only has to disconnect the relays to use the hole that was there for the alarm cable and then put it all back together. i rand the usb cable up from there and kept it under the seat in case of adjustments. had to get a dyno tune to make it run right but well worth the $320 it cost.

I agree, only you know your ability. give it a good read and if you feel good about it then do it. if not then dont risk damaging something thats only gonna cost you more money.

I say go for it - that was my first big upgrade and learned alot about my bike in the process. It gave me the confidence to tackle more upgrades - plus I save $$, do it on my time and in the comfort of my own garage. I would recommend getting a service manual.
