Thanks again to all,

I really appreciate all the suggestions. It sounds like the issue can have multiple causes and finding the right one might take a bit of effort. I do know that when the bike was new I didn't have the wobble. I like many others only have the wobble at a specific speed. No trouble with slow and real fast---110 max with current setup.
Just one more question. I thought to be sure the wheel was true you have to very precise with spoke tightening? Wouldn't over tightening or under tightening a spoke or two pull the wheel out of true?
I'm going to give the pros. at HD another attempt to resolve.
Again thanks to all for the great input and sharing your experiences. New tire 150 bucks Service 50 bucks -----All this info priceless.
Regards,

Guys,

Really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Suppose to be near 55 in Colorado this weekend so plan on getting in some miles. Will also check out some of your recommendations as well.

Thanks again

I had the same trouble. The steering head bearings were loose.Adjusted them and problem solved. The dealer did the 1000 mile service, but obviously didn't check them as the wobble apeared around 1800 miles.Check your head bearings.

Well it's spring and the snow finally stopped. I picked the ride up end of last week. HD shop tightened steering head bearings and the wobble is gone. Off to ride the weather is fantastic, with record warmth for this time of the year, so I'm getting out to enjoy.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know if it's true or not. I was told by a long time harley rider that the wobble can be from cold tires. He said that in the winter the bike sits for much longer and the tires get "flat spots", and that it takes many miles to completely warm them up and make them true again. With that being said, when I had the same issue I tightened the steering head a little and the problem was gone.

Default Possible Solution Found

I have an 01 fatboy that had the exact same vibration as described 40-45 like clockwork... i have been through several balances 2 new rear tires and 1 new front, with no changes, and no answers. I assumed it was a problem i would just have to live with. That is, Until about 4 days ago when I took off the HD Dunlops and replaced them with Elite 3s. Absolutely no more wobble! Not to mention no more chasing rain grooves or tar snakes. I believe it had to be the tires. its possible that the beads don't seat properly or maybe just a weird combination with the bike.
