Default Winter Warriors, Unite

OK, this is a waste of a 1:46 video, but it does show how far one's desperation for springtime can push him. Our local Harley-Davidson shop is hosting "Winter Warrior" month again this year. If you ride in sometime in January you get to sign in for a "free" T-shirt. My wife went with me for a shirt too. She smartly got on the bike once I landed on clearer asphalt (just after the video stops). I had my son video this just "in case" something went wrong... at least it would be something to post on YouTube. Drop a 20k bike for a free $20 t-shirt. Could have been like an "I'm gonna lock the throttle" moment, if you've seen that guy's vid. As it is, it's kinda boring--thankfully. Turns out the hardest part was backing up over the little crack in the driveway (LOL) besides shoveling as much as I could ahead of time and having to wash the bike afterward. This will likely be the last time I do the "Winter Warrior" thing (unless the roads are clear)! Now we have to wait 'til March for the shirts to come in.

That was a great clip. I never really thought about the hassles of being a biker in snow country, until I joined this forum. I'm 56 years old and I've lived in Southern California my entire life. Believe it or not, I've only seen snow fall twice in my life, never driven in snow, never shoveled a driveway, and never missed a single of day of school or work due to adverse weather conditions. I salute your courage and your willingness to put your $20,000 bike at risk.

Hell ya, i was looking at the driveway today and hoping i can make it down it sunday the roads are all clear but drive looks worse than yours. Last year we used several bags of salt, shovels and a propane tank and big torch head to clear the driveway so we could ride. Got to do what you got to up north to ride.
