Default lifts/jacks, which way to go?

I suspect this topic has likely been beaten to death but try to cut me some slack i just got a bike and i'm excited to get more things for it. In saying that I would like some help in getting a good lift/jack. Would like to hear what is out there and which ones people on here prefer. Any advice would be helpful

Thanks

You really need one of each if you do all your own wrenching, well I guess just a table with the rear wheel cutout would do for one bike but I have 3. I got the jack and its great for tires and getting the bike to a working level. but nothing compares to a table for serious work, i'm presently getting the stuff together to build a lift table, there are some good plans on the net if your handy. Good luck

It depends on how elaborate you want to get, and how much you want to spend. If you've got the money, the way to go is a table lift, but if money is an issue (as it is for most of us here) the Sears yellow or red jack have suited many people on this forum very well, and they're a relatively economic buy.

If you just need to get a wheel up in the air and/or want to set it up straight a scissor jack will do. I use one of these. If that isn't enough you could get a jack similar to this which will get your bike up in the air. If your really want to go crazy and have the room in your garage you could get a bike lift.

These are only examples and are at the low end of the spectrum cost-wise. You are only limited by your budget from there.

The SEARS yellow jack works just fine for me. A quick search will also show good reviews of the Pitbull, J&S, SEARs red.
