how easy is the power commander to set up? I've been thinking of getting one for my 09 flstc this spring when i put the exhaust and air filter on, but there's no dyna shop around here to tune it, so what are my options? is it something you can set up at home?

Try Fuel Moto...I bought my PC-V from them. They come with a canned map to your set-up..with great custo-service

Very simple to install a 2-year old can do it...good luck

Many on HDF swer by FuelMoto and their pre-configured PowerCommanders. I loved the PCIII on my Wide Glide. I self installed and had a custom map created by a dallas area tuner. Regardless ot where you get a PC from ,get a USB version and run a cable from it to the fuse box or someplace you can get to. Comes in handy when you want to turn features on/off and make subtle programming changes.

My PCIII has been treating me well - used one of the pre-canned maps for my system and it screams!

So since i just got my bike a week ago and i am an idiot to the EFI tuner stuff, do you need a Dyno tune with it?

A dyno is always the ideal way to go, but you certainly don't have to do that. The canned map that Fuel Moto supplies should work great, especially if your bike is a stocker with just pipes and a free flowing A/C.
