sure looks sweet so far . imho rockers need a tank lift to look their best , yours is great !
about the paint cracking on the oil tank , i'm no painter but i've worked with one and my guess is the tank needs to be stripped and repainted , anything less isn't going to match the quality of the rest of the work he's done , which is excellent
Well, I've got to take it all back apart again and fix some scuffs, breaks, and dents. I ran into the back of a car that stopped unexpectedly in front of me as I turned my head to clear a lane change. Only scuff on me was road rash on an elbow and a stiff ankle.
The tank got dented and scuffed beyond repair, broke the mirror and a signal lens. The primary cover and derby cover are scuffed, the license holder got scuffed really bad and the rear fender got some chips on it too. Insurance has already paid out so gotta take it all apart and replace the tank. That's gonna be the toughest since I had it smoothed and lifted. I'll do all the work myself in the garage and send the tank and fender out for paint.
I'm thinking of doing a 2 or 4 degree rake and extending the forks to keep the bike level... anyone got any info on raking out a rocker with a new triple tree? I want to keep a smooth ride, therefore no more than 4 degrees.
I know I didn't post pics after the final rebuild but I'll get some up soon... and that's relative to our total time on this earth you know...
