I had my 2008 xbones lowered before I picked it up new I told them to use white bros lowering kit as they only seemed to be the ones who supplied them at the time for the 2008 I had put 2" seat springs on it as well and have only every ridden it that way so I can't compare it to a standard bike, but the bike has always been comfy the seat does bottom out on bad bumps but I don't mind and any way the bones looks so much better lowered just go for it dude

I have a 2009 Crossbones. Rode it for 3 months/3000miles and then lowered it 2" with Progressive Suspension lowering kit. I didn't see any difference in the ride, except when riding 2up. I have some 2" springs coming in the mail next week. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Hardest part was making a home made shock press to swap out the rod from the stock shocks.

I used the Burnout Cycles lowering kit for the rear on mine. I actually think it handles better than before. It is lowered 2 inches. The install is supposed to be plug and play, but the clearance on one of the shocks is not quite enough, so rubber mallot and some gentle taps to get it into place. If you're new to this, have your dealer or a good Indy put them on for you. You can find them in JP Cycles catalog. My bones is up on a lift in storage now, but I will post pix when I can. Good luck.

I used the Burnout kit (installed by an indy)...looks great but the ride is definitely stiffer. I don't mind it all though.
