Default can't decide between Heritage and Deluxe....

Both great bike, and there are small things I like better about each of them. I have sat on them for an hour or 2 and both fit me well.

I don;t feel the Deluxe bars will be any good for me
I need 10" or 12" apes
I will be putting Fornales shock to improve ride with either bike
I want to have the Deluxe floorboards no matter which bike I go with
I will be taking the saddlebags off the Heritage cause I don't like the look.

It seems like making the changes I need to suit me on either bike will run about the same cost. Both bikes cost the same with the deal I'm getting except the Heritage will be the custom color Merlot and cherry something.

Both bikes look great, and I am 5'9" and 140lbs and only ride solo.

I know you guys HATE these threads and the answer is always RENT THEM BOTH, but can't do that in this City, and the great trade-in deal I have negotiated is at this dealer.

Any advice?

if you're not going to use the bags at all, i'd suggest getting the deluxe and changing out the bars to the apes you want.

My wife wanted a Deluxe but after adding on the windshield and she wanted bags, we settled on a new 2009 Heritage. I had the front and rear lowered, added the floorboard extensions, added bare-backs to removed the saddlebags to get the old school look, and ordered a Mustang seat with backrest. She loves it and so do I. Now I have another bike to ride.

One or the other doesn't appeal to you more? When it comes to bikes -- and especially after you've done your research, figured out how you're going to use it, etc. -- I think you have to make your decision based on lust, pure and simple. You won't regret it.

Not a bad problem to have Good luck with your decision; you can't go wrong with either.

The deluxe is already lowered but comes with less in the way of belles and whistles. No shield, no bags. If you aver not planning on using the shields and bags get the deluxe, if you are planning on using the bags get the Heritage and lower it. 6 of one half dozen of the other.

Like said above. They are pretty much the same bike, I am in the same boat right now. I am trying to convince my girlfriend she needs a harley and we debated between the heritage and deluxe. We decided on the heritage because it already comes with everything. But we are shopping for both, just trying to find the best deal We ran across a 07 deluxe with bags and a windshield, both detatchabe, low miles and beat the price of any heritage out there. But of course when I called it was already taken.

My sugestion is don't limit yourself to one or the other shop around for both and you will find one that has tons of upgrades and priced very well. Good luck

Don't think you can make a bad call here. Some little details I noticed trying to make the call:

The Deluxe has the bullet turn signals, tombstone taillight and a luggage rack standard. Heritage console is a little nicer looking. I like the tank badge on the deluxe better. I'm not a fan of the studs. The stock exhaust on the Deluxe has the passenger pegs in the middle, the Heritage has the pipes below the pegs.

Subtle differences to be sure. Good luck.

I would have to say get the Heritage and quick detachable mounts for the bags and backrest. And you can see from my pics below, you can have your cake and eat it too.

One more thing, you need to get the backrest and passenger pillion before you leave the showroom. There are going to be plenty of ladies wanting a ride on your new bike.
