Default Detachable Sissy Bar

Where is the best place to find a detachable sissy bar for a 2001 Heritage Classic? Will I need to purchase any additional hardware?

http://www.bubbasbrakes.com/

I got my detatchable bag and sissy bar kit from them. A little pricy but worth it.

hey hambone,
can you put both the sissy bar and saddlebags on at the same time and individually?

I asked Easy Brackets this question and they didn't answer it clearly, they just said "Yes, they both work" (I'm not sure they understood the question)

Yes you can. Be sure to buy the combo kit for both at the same time. If you just buy the one and not the other and decide after that you want both to be quick release you have to purchase the kit again at additional cost.

Now that my wife has her own bike I ride mostly without the passenger pillion and sissybar, and take the bags off when I clean and polish the tins on the bike. I've also recently sent them and email asking that they develope a luggage rack that will sit over the rear fender and work with the same quick release tabs that are used for the sissy bar. That way I could have a luggage rack to strap my laptop bag or anything else I want to carry with me when I'm running with the solo seat. Otherwise I have to put the sissybar back on just to get the luggage rack that is attached to it to carry baggage.

Haven't heard back from them as of yet. If you talk to then mention it to them also for me will ya! Maybe if more people start asking them for one it might speed up the development of one.

Check the aftermarket resources. Many places sell luggage racks that bolt to where the passenger seat mounts if you're running a solo seat setup. Not exactly detachable but it works.

Thanks Jack. I haven't seen one that mounts like that but I'll keep an eye out for one.

The bitch is that if I'd have bought the HD quick detatch kit, they have what I want that works with thier quick detach kit. I just didn't like the cheesy looking plastic release tabs that they have on thier quick detach kit. That's why I went with the Bubbas system., it's all chrome.

I just ordered the bubbas system for both the sissy bar and the saddlebags. So I am hearing you say that the HD fender rack does not marry up to the bubbas system?

According to the HD parts dept, no it doesn't. Of course I'm not willing to shell out $199 to order the HD one just to find out. If I ever come across one I'll see if it fits otherwise I'm just going to wait till bubba designs one specifically for there system.

Now if you have a HD fender rack and find out it works just fine with the bubbas mounting brackets, please let me know.
