It was a tough decision with LOTS of waffling between an RKC and the Fat Boy Lo to replace my 07 Fat Boy, but over the weekend I pulled the trigger on the black denim Lo
I pick it up Tuesday, and one of the first mods will be denim-blacking out some of satin pieces and gloss black pieces. So my first (of many I'm sure) questions is have any owners of black denim bikes found an over the counter paint to use that matches the HD denim closely enough so as to be indistinguishible from factory? Thanks
Congrats on the new scoot, good choice. You can get Black denim in a spray can right from your dealer, a little pricey but it is the exact color. Plus it's a lacquer paint and dries super fast so you don't have to wait forever to dry. I have done some parts on mine with it, and they came out pretty good. Use a good auto primer underneath.
Just wanted to say congrats on the new ride. I absolutely LOVE mine!! You'll love modding it out. I'm still trying to figure out what I really want to spend my money on first. Post up pics when you get it...
Dave...dare I ask what the forward controls set you back?? Hard to tell on the sig pic, but me rikey!!
Those are the HD stock FX softail controls with black slotted levers, the parts are probably about $500. Look on Ebay or the classifieds here, maybe someone has a set from an 07 and up for sale. The part # for the set from HD is 33909-08 $319.95, book says they don't fit but they do
