I agree about the twisties and I am orignally from the North where there are twisties, now I live in Florida. There are plenty of back roads but nothing is very twisty. As a matter of fact there are not even any hills here except for the land fills.

I have noticed that the further east I go that there are states with lower speed limits. I try to hold it to 5 over most of the time. Here the limit is 75, so I cruise at 80. I was in Texas last year and enjoyed 80 mph limits and crusied at 85. The bike handled it fine, my lower legs got tired though from the wind though. Now I know why they make lower fairings for baggers. 80 mph is not straing a twin cam at all, especially if you have a six speed.

Under 75 lugs in 6th gear. 75-80 is perfect.

I am like others in stating that I prefer the 2-Lanes backroads with twisties. 45-60
When on the 4-Lanes I have riden distance 160mi. continuous at 70/75. I haven't heard anything telling me that the motor wouldn't take it.

Alot of open roads in Az. Last week me and some buddies went to Vegas for a night and back. Whenever we get out of town we cruise 85-90 mph.(faster than I like to go at times) The bikes are 110ci SERK, 107ci custom bagger, an 03 FB w/stock 88ci and my 07 Deuce 96ci and for the last year or so no problems with any of them.

We usually cruise 5-9 miles above and around here that means 70-74. In a group, in traffic, that's a pretty comfortable pace. In some states (MA, cough cough) you really don't want to get caught doing much above that. In a smaller group in more remote interstates (is that an oxymoron) we will push 80-85 and my bike hums. I don't have the 6 speed, but sure the stage 1 gives it a pop.

When we ride down in FL, the highway pace is 80 and still no issues. I can tell you doing 95 and above on 95 my husband can beat my butt on his Victory, but that is fodder for another discussion. Anyways, even at those speeds, I've had no issues, it's just not something you want to do all day long for multiple reasons (most which have nothing to do with the bike).

I like too cruise at whatever speeds the highway dictates, and no, I don't mean posted speed limits, more going with the flow. Personally, anywhere between 65-75 suits me fine. When I'm riding, I am not in a hurry to get anywhere...

Not to say I dont mind opening it up sometimes and hear my reinharts come to life...

sorry: didn't answer the question first time around...my bike liked to cruise between 65 and 70 until i completed my stage 1 and had it dyno'd. now it's much more comfortable (and so am i) around 75 and up to 80

I cruise to work daily at about 80-85ish. Everyday, 43 miles...each way.
