I went to start my 05' Softail in December and all i got was a click from the starter and everything went dead. No headlight, not instruments, etc...
The battery is brand new and has a full charge, putting out nearly 13 volts. All fuses are good.
When i turn the ignition on, the speedo needle will move and then i get the normal little buzz when i turn the ignition off again but no indicator lights or anything else.
I have just started to look into what the problem is and i do have full power getting to the ignition switch but i have not gone any further yet. I am gonna pick up a service manual this evening (just because i need to anyway).
Anyone have some advice or pointers on where the problem may be or the best path to take on the wiring harness to track where i am loosing power?
I have had to many electrical problems that i have banged my head tiring to figure them out. One thing i learned, alway start simple, don't dive in to deep to quickly. Sounds like a ground problem. Check your ground terminal and fuses first.
