Thanks fellas, I had a blast doing the project. Went on the maiden voyage today after bleeding the brakes. Im loving the comfort and leaned back feel. The only thing im unsure on is the flex in the riser bushings.
I swapped in poly risers from Drag Spec, but something still doesnt feel what I would consider "right". Mayeb the stock bolts are too long for the wild 1 525 risers and im bottoming out before its totally tight. Maybe I need a tougher or solid bushing. Maybe its normal and I just have to get used to the push and pull motion.
I remember reading the post of the guy telling you to go Ballsout! I cracked a smile seeing you did.
I just finished my bar install. I'm not the most handy person but I loved doing it. Took her out for the first ride last night. I'll post pics when I figure out how .
Sweet job man! I'm new to this forum and I will be finished with my HCC ape install this week. I'm 5'6" on a good day so I went with the 14" on my 07 Fatboy. I agree with the other posters that there is no feeling like doing the wrenching yourself. Or in my case with my neighbor who teaches auto mechs at the local community college.
Quick pick of my progress so far.
