Want it on the right side. There doesn't seem to be one listed in HD literature to fit my bike. I have V&H True duals so the exhaust is out of the way. Dealer says 64227-08, but my model is not listed in fitment for that part # (probably due to the stock exhaust).
I don’t know if you have saddle bags or not. I went with an EBay rollup tool bag and I have found a majority of the work I do on my baby is done from tools from this bag. Other than carrying a torque wrench, I have everything I really need. Weights about 15 pounds rolled up, but I place two water bottle in the opposite side and rides like dream. Plus I have the satisfaction of knowing anything goes wrong I should have the tool for it.
The right side toolbox is not listed for the FLSTF either. As long as your exhaust is under the passenger peg it should fit (the toolbox uses the peg mounting point). I've got toolboxes on both sides of my '09 FLSTF.
I have one on the right side, it was already installed when I bought the bike, but it has a homemade extension on the right passenger foot peg but if you have rear floorboards it is not necessary.
I've got the right side box on mine. Mine would be part #64937-00A. I don't think the '08 would be any different than mine for mounting.
ElSupremo,
Nice ride, what year is it? That part number fitment is for 2000-2007 FLSTN. 2008 and above is not listed on any of the tool box fitments, see the link. What the hell changed in 2008?

Left side is 64230-08, right side is 64227-08. I used the passenger peg spacers (49352-00) on both sides.
Spelk3,
Thanks for the info. So those fit without issue? It looks like something did change between 2007 and 2008. The only thing I can think of is the wider back tire on some of the softails, did that happen in 07 or 08? I'm thinking it was 07, so that must not be the difference. FLTSN still has the narrow back tire. Hmmm, may have to just go to the dealer and order what they think. That way I am not stuck with it if it doesn't fit. Will pay a little more though.
