Mine is awesome, it is 01, I got it with 16K 2 years ago, she has almost 30K now and I never stop tinkering with it, you can see it is not so standard after all
2006 FXST, is the First year they put the 200 rear tire on, also the last year of the 88cu with 5 speed, '07 they went to 96cu and a 6 speed, which is basically a stroked 88cu. In my opinion the absolute best platform for customizing, no other model has more options available than the FXST/B/C. Excellent choice, Is it Injected or Carbed?
the standard is one of the best to start off with cause its like a blank canvas, you can do a little or alot to it and its not that hard to work on,but buy a manual
Wow, looks like a great bike...you guys have all done great things with yours.
Blank slate is kinda what I was thinking also. Enough motor to scoot down the road, but not a lounge chair (not knocking the tourers, folks...)
I don't know whether it's carbed or injected...will have to go back and check. I like FI-don't know if carbs are preferred, but have no particular intention to do a lot of engine mods. Reliability is very important to me.
Anyway, thanks for all the information...I knew this was the right place to ask!
