Default noisy top end

Guys,
I took my bike out for the first time after putting new pipes (VH BSS), a/c, and fuel management (TTS) and I noticed the top ends seems more noisier than before. Sounds like a sewing machine or a bunch of locusts. Is that the valves I am hearing or is it the counter balancer? Is this normal? I know if I take it to the dealer they will tell me it is normal. I just want to make sure that I did not screw up anything after going to stage 1. I did the work myself. Maybe I am just noticing it more since I have a different sounding pipes. I would have thought I would have noticed less with putting on louder pipes. Am I just being paranoid?....this is my first Harley (09 Fatboy). Thanks.

Howdy, I have a setup very close to yours. VH BSS, went with the VH air cleaner though, and fuelpak. I also throw on a king sized windshield which doesn't help matters.

But, my 09 fatboy top end is louder than all hell. Working as intended.

By contrast, my wife's Dyna is silky smooth quiet. Figures...

The more you do to it, the more noises you start to notice. Personally I can't hear my engine over the primary, but it's been that way for 15,000 miles so I stopped worrying about it.

If i am not mistaken if you remap or use a fuel management it changes the timing and richens the mixture and it will make you bike sound differently....I may be wrong. Mine has 43k on it (07 FLHTC) sounds pretty loud and i am driving a loaner 05 Road Kink today for the weekend and it quiet...

I wondered the same thing about mine. It sounds like there is a bunch of stuff rolling around in there, but after 5 years and 20,000 miles I guess if there were something wrong with it I would know it by now.

Same thing with my 08 Fatboy...noisy top end but have 12000 miles on it and sounds the same if it were going to come apart I guess it would have by now.
