Default Throttle cable question on EFI Fatboy

I'm installing new handlebars and risers on my 2001 Fatboy. Purchased new handlebar control kit (70239-07) with new wiring harness so I could lengthen my wires. I removed everything requied, installed the bars and started to assemble. Got to my throttle cables and came to a road block! Cables have crimped ball at the throttle and molded ferrule on the throttle body end. How do I remove the throttel cable from my housing to install on my new housing?

Loosen off the the throttle and idle cables and pull down . They should come right out.

Had to beat the SOB out with a drift pin. Was in too tight to pull.

Glad you got it out. I'll never forget the first time I went to get the throttle cables out I could not figure it out. Took a pair of wire cutters and cut them. I took my bars to a freinds house to wire them and he asked why I did that. He laughed at me.

Their a PIA! Went through this last week.
The manual actually states to apply oil to the crimped cable fitting where it enters the housing shell, and while pulling, rock the fitting back and forth. Guess this applies some type of compression around the snap ring allowing removal. I assisted removal with the blade of an old butter knife. She finally popped free.
