You have to get your dealer to have HD set the mileage on the speedo. I also know this speedo combination has two power sources and in the 2010 ConV you must pull the assy fuse to flash the ECM.
[quote=Mathis;6471263]I plan to put one on my 2010 Heritage. I wonder why it's $200 cheaper than the analog speedo/tach? I'd think digital would be more expensive.
Yea same here, I was wondering the same thing. I believe this one looks better with the console. I also wonder how the display will show up in the daylight.
The digital display is very high quality and can be seen at any angle and light. The RPM dial has a red led attached so it too can be spotted while riding.
If HD says it will work for your model year, go with that. Both power sources should be available.
If you use a SERT, SEST or TTS you will need to pull the ASSY fuse to flash the ECM. This digital circuitry will continue to call for a fuel level and will not leave the ECM alone so the J1860 VCI can attach to flash.
I was wanting to purchase this for my 2007 (plan to do so even though), couldnt figure out why my softail wasnt listed as an application, it still plugs in, just has the added feature of fuel/mileage remaining...........we will see I guess. Dealer and I went through as much wiring as we could think of, and examined plugs.......SHOULD work.......(famous last words)
