I ditched the gas gauge on my 2010 Lo. I put on two custom fuel caps. I heard that you need a working gas gauge for the new combo unit to show fuel level. Is that correct?

Thats been my experience, yes. Is yours working without the stock fuel gauge?

I haven't bought it yet. I was trying to see if that was true. Seems odd that you need a gas gauge to send info to another gauge. Maybe I can buy a small gauge to dump in the cup holder and put my cap over it. I'll have to look into that.
