Default Handle bars uneven while riding straight : FLSTFI

Hello,

Just picked up an 06 fatboy a few week ago and I noticed that the bars are uneven while going straight. Although it is very minimal I am a bit picky and would rather have things be right and not need to think about it so, that I can enjoy the ride. I have taken the bars off and they are true. I did notice that the raisers are rubber mounted. The right side is closer that the left and thought that this could be a result of turning the tire while getting on the bike over time. Could this be the issue or maybe something else?

Thanks,
Matt

Normal. Just bump the bars a little to straighten them up. I put poly bushing on mine and have not had that problem since. It does get a little annoying, the rubber bushing are the cause.

Yup I agree ^ Get some poly bushing plus it'll feel more solid.

Thanks, I went out to the garage and bumped the bars other way and they are straight for now. I'll running over the parts store tomorrow and grab a set of polys for a better solution.

With the poly bushings you may have a little more vibration out of the bars. It is annoying, but really only occurs when you force on the bars.

It could also be that the forks are twisted slightly. You would need to loosen the pinch bolts on the triple clamps and twist the wheel the other way...

you can also loosen the pushings, twist and tighten, happened to me on my old bars and yes it is terribly annoying.

Same here, i had just accepted it myself as normal, every bike i have been on has been this way, I didnt know they made these poly bushings, Where to get them? HD? its just so slight, but irritating when im riding and get to dwelling on it, for the most part i dont notice but at times i glance down and then its back to being annoyed.

Its from when they tighten the bars. Thats why you'll notice that everyone who has this problem has bars turned slightly to the right. I posted about this on another forum and many many responded saying they have the same problem. Turn your wheel all the way to the left and give a shove at the base of the right side to move them left. I did that then tightened the risers while my wife held the bars in place. Poly bushings are next for me as well.

I put the poly's in and still get some twist from time to time. Annoy's the sh*t out of me. People kinda look funny at me when I jump off my bike at a red light and pinch the front tire between my legs and tweak my bars back. I just say, Oh! you know that Harley quality.
