I test rode a 2007 Heritage Classic and fell in love. I've only had the '03 Low Rider for three months so its going to be a hard sell at home, but I might go for it. It's the first Softail I've ridden and I really liked it.
I have a couple questions about the Heritage. Can you get any kind of detachable saddlebag and sissybar system for it? Everything on my Low Rider is detachable and once in awhile I like to remove it all. I'll buy the Heritage anyway, but detachable would be nice.
Are there any exhaust options available for the '07's yet?
My sig pic below shows my 06 Heritage with the sissy bar and luggage rack on. But it's detachable, and a lot of times I ride without it. Since wife doesn't ride, I've got the seat off witha bib in it's place, and yes the windshield is detachable as well. The Heritage's convert-ability was one of my reasons for selecting that bike.
P.S. The leather bags remove in 5 minutes, but other than the occasional thorough wash I keep them on and enjoy the carrying capability. There are alot of choices for detachable bags too.
Those showrooms get a lot of people....You think your happy until you see something better!!!!!! If you can afford it go for it!!! I would love to have that 6 speed on my Deluxe
You can get detachable side plates for the sissy bar. You can get kits to make the saddle bags detatcheable from a few after market companies (not form H-D).
Do a search and you should find several threads that have information about the different kits that are available...
Speaking of removable bags there is a company called bubba who makes clean looking removable brackets. They have been in limbo for a while and are just about to release there no brackets for the deluxe. I have a set on the way and its one of the first two shipped. UN like other detachable brackets this set still has the support brackets which come off with the bags they come down and rest over the rare peg bracket when the bags are removed the brackets come with it. I had bought the ghost brackets and they push the bags to far from the strut and do not have the extra support brackets. The stock deluxe bags come with support brackets Harley must believe they are needed or they would can them in a minute if they could save money. Right now I am running without the bags they hide all the chrome on my rear end and its hard to clean with them on. These brackets will give me the option to remove them in seconds

I'll check them out. I have a set of Easy Brackets (similar to the Ghost Brackets) on my Dyna. They work great except for setting the bags out 1 1/2".
