I was ridding the other day it was in the upper 70's and my head temp was reaching 270*
How hot is to hot?
What temp do I need to start worring at?
I have the Thunderhart digital speedo thats were im getting my head temp readin from.

300 on the front head and 330 on the rear head is considered "average"...doesn't seem to be much information on what too hot is.

 

Any idea if the gauge is reading the front or rear head?

Just to see what the temps read I have bounced an infrared thermometer off my cylinders at the exhaust outlet after riding and when my oil dip stick (meat thermometer type) was reading 230 degrees the cylinder temps were closer to 375 degrees with the rear clyinder being about 10 degrees hotter.

 

the exhaust temp runs 350 to 380 on my ir reader on the pipes at the baffles.

 

What temp does it have to reach to shut 1 cylinder down
