Best thing I've done for comfort (aside from finally installing some Apes which are amazing btw) is change the shocks. Progressive 422's in the rear. I don't know how much preload i have set, but they're very nice. and adjustable (with a bit of finesse) so you can raise the rear end to stock if you need to, or drop it to get the look without scraping your bags. Check ebay, I think I got mine on there for about $200 or so. (or Shotgun Shock as anyone else in this forum will say, for about $1200-1300).

Default My new Fatboy Lo

Just traded in my Blackline for a 2013 Fatboy Lo with only 900 km on the clock I love the Fat Boy Lo. I managed to do 19,000 km's on the Blackline in 14 months. Can't wait to get the miles up on the Lo.

I have V&H Big Radius 2-into-1 pipes and I love 'em. They're throaty, growly, and just loud enough without waking up the neighbors. Granted, after a while I wanted to take the baffle out, but I think I waited too long - tried the other day when finishing out the fender mod and it didn't wanna budge. I may try again, we'll see. But even with the baffle, it sounds pretty darn good in my worthless opinion.

I got my progressives dialed in. Great shocks for the price. Got mine shipped new on amazon for 300.00. Helps if you have a lift to adjust them but you don't need one. Takes about 15 minutes for me and I'm slow. Apes make a ton of difference too. No discomfort on long runs.

How much better than stock would you say they are when going over expansion joints on the interstate? The stock shocks don't seem too bad for the most part around town but when riding down to Orlando on the interstate those expansion joints beat me up pretty good.

This last trip is the longest I have ever done in one trip with about 635 miles in a day being the least number of miles a day I rode. Try an Air Hawk Original. I did a 12 hour ride and still felt like cooking steaks and drinking bourbon.

Question on seats..currently I have the reduce reach seat on the bike because I didn't want to mess with the handle bars. Well the seat isn't bad for short trips but riding this past weekend for 300 miles was not the most comfortable. Any suggestion on what is out there that is comfortable for longer trips but sits me up closer to handlebars?

I have heard that the Mustang vintage solo is a very comfortable seat and some have said that it moved them forward a bit. Might be worth checking out.

Again, Air Hawk Original on the seat you have now.
