driving myself nuts. i'm just about done with the mods. going to change the spark plug wires to blue, will eventually find the right linkage rod and find the right axle nut covers.. but with all my bikes i've had atleast one if not a few skulls on it. i love the skull on the crossbones on the oil tank, i'm thinking the oil tank as being my canvas. but i'm nervous about putting something. don't want to just put something there for the sake of doing it..either find a harley decal of the number 1 with a skull in it or just finding a cool skull..ugh..opinions welcome on this issue
The only Axle Nut Covers and Swing Arm Bolt covers I have found are from HD, they were about $40 for each location and even my sorry local dealer had them in stock...
saw some from kuryakyn but they're chrome and i would have to paint them. but i like things to look like they go together, so i will probably go with the ones from harley. you just made my mind up, thanks. i know this guy ain't to popular among bikers but choppers inc has one with bullet caps on top and it's black. though i did find a guy on ebay who makes a custom cut air breather face for 45 bucks. could get a skull but may do something else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141745827619...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I wish I had gone with the 1.5 bars. Perhaps this winter or next I will swap my risers and bars out to some Carlinie's.
I need to figure out if I'm okay with the extra width that comes with them. On the Gangster 16's the 1.5's are 41" wide compared to 36.5" for the 1.25's. That sounds really wide, but I am a big son of a bitch so I'd probably be okay with it.
i have road6 customs on my dyna, they are not wide at all, but when the carlini's came i thought, oh ****. but the are comfortale as hell. but i don't know about another 4 1/2 inches.
went to the stealer yesterday to pick up my flush mount gas gauge and cap. gonna order some plug wires and maybe the axle nut caps. still unsure if i want them or not. with put all this on before spring. might get an oil plug too, also unsure.
I love the flush mount caps. I wish you could get them with just a dummy for the left side since I have the tach/speedo combo which has its own fuel gauge. Seems kind of redundant to have both. I think there's some aftermarket ones, but they don't seem to look as "right" as the Harley set.
Update on my bike is that all of the parts to fix it are supposedly on order. I know shipping will get delayed a bit with Christmas so I'm not really expecting to see my bike again before 2016.
I'm still swaying back and forth on the apes, but most likely I will go ahead and order the 16" Gangsters before long. I'm 6'3" and if you measure my arm span tip to tip it's 6'6", so I don't think the width or the height will be any issue.
