Calling all FatBoy Lo Owners
I also added a Pingel shift extender as well as the Kury ISO Extended Shift Peg. I was in an accident a few years back and needed to keep my left leg far to the left when riding. I ended up having surgery to fix the leg but found the shift setup was extremely comfy so I kept it that way.
The nostalgic engine guard looks best on the Lo's in my opinion. I've sat on several bikes with the mustache bars but the foot placement isn't as comfy as throwing pegs on a nostalgic guard. The protection on the mustache bars if ever you get up close and personal with the pavement also is not the greatest.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
1. The company: I chose leather works based on some pictures i saw here and members recommendations. I was not disappointed. After some time spent looking at the companies website, I had some questions. I phoned the company and got a response back the same day. I think the return call came from the owner, or at least she is featured on some of their videos. She was extremely knowledgeable about their product and specifically fitment to my bike. She initially told me that it would take approximately 2 weeks to make and get the bags to me in Chicago from California. When I mentioned that I would love to have them in 10 days for a trip i had planned she said she'd see what she could do. The bags shipped in 3 days and I had them in 6. By the 7th day they were on the bike. Overall it was a great experience and real old school service you don't find anymore from mega outfits selling Chinese junk.
The bags: They are obviously a well made product. They aren't the cheapest, but they do feel like they could easily last 20 years, so well worth it.
If there are any members considering adding a swing arm bag, i suggest going in on a purchase of 103 bags with another member. They are small enough to not ruin the look of the bike, but big enough to actually put stuff in.
Ez brackets: Let me start by saying that while the installation video is good, it does show 2 people completing the project (they as well as i advise this). For 1 impatient person that couldn't wait for help, well, your bag might be slightly slanted

Overall, it took about 1 hour to install. On the Fatboy, the mounting points are offset, causing the brackets to be mounted on an angle. This recesses them enough that they are just slightly hard to access. They are stable and I did 300 miles yesterday with no problem.
Overall I rate the whole event a 9/10.
